TIFF '09 Here We Come!
  Exciting news! Duane and Shane will be pitching "Super Zeroes" at Pitch This! September 15t, as part of the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival! Here's a link to all of the events details. [also, Shane will be around the festival alot as he is a member of the shorts category awards jury - some details on that]
BOXED IN is almost ready
  "Boxed In", a short film that we co-wrote and Shane directed for the National Film Board of Canada (Produced by Lea Marin) is almost done. The colour correct was super delux, the sound mix was cozy, and now just some finishing touches, like how big a font we're going to use for our titles, is still left to complete. This short is produced for APTN and to premiere at the 2010 Olympics in the Canadian Pavillion. Details to come when we have everything locked down.

TKARONTO, our first feature film has been out there in the world playing theatres, Air Canada, festivals, CDN TV, and DVD's are now available.

 
We're of course thrilled that the debut feature film has gotting out there as far and wide as it has. It was written and directed by Shane Belcourt and stars Duane Murray, and Duane and Shane also share co-producing credits along with Jordan O'Connor. It shuold also be noted that as a co-producer and star Duane had CONSIDERABLE influnece and effect on the final script. POOKUMS and THE SQUEEZE BOX are sold and out there in the world in some form
 

Duane and Shane co-wrote/directed/produced two short films, "The Squeeze Box" and "Pookums". Both have been sold to a CDN distributor OUAT Media who has since gotten the shorts on CDN TV, festivals, and Air Canada. People tell us often that they've seen them on Moviola. Shane would like to make more shorts, but Duane figures them to be a waste of time ... it's feature time!

What is Broken Slate Pictures?
 

Quickly: Broken Slate Pictures is a film production company created by Shane Belcourt and Duane Murray. We're located in Toronto, Canada and have created to date a feature film (Tkaronto) two short films (Pookums and The Squeeze Box), with another short (Boxed In) for the NFB coming out soon. This short summary doesn't take into account that Shane and Duane have known each other since high school and have made many student-type films and scripts together. Currently we are preparing to pitch "Super Zeroes" at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival (Sept. 15th at high noon along with 5 other participants).
